Activate Your NUS Extra Card

Now you’ve got your card, you’re probably itching to get out there and enjoy all your discounts and money saving special offers and start milking it as soon as possible. To make sure that your card is recognised by us and all of our discount partners both in-store and on the high street, you need to activate your card. Do it today before you forget..

Don’t worry, it’s easy: First you need to log in to your account. You will have received an email from NUS Extra 24 hours after placing your order if your card was ordered online, or within 5 working days if you ordered through your Students’ Union. This email contains your login details which, once entered below, will allow you full access to all the Extra special discounts on offer. If you are having difficulties logging in, please make sure:

  • ... that the password is entered exactly as it appears on the email as it is case sensitive. Try copy and pasting if you’re having trouble. Don’t worry if it’s difficult to remember, as you can change it once you’re into your account.
  • ... that you are using this year’s login details emailed to you after ordering this years card. If you had an NUS Extra card last year we have provided you with brand new login details through the email, so wipe the old details from your mind (and from the box below if your computer automatically remembers them.)

If at this point you are frantically searching your inbox for the email, don’t panic! Check your junk mail folder, as it may well have been filtered out by your email provider. Also, check which address you provided us with when you ordered the card. Did you enter your University address, or was it a personal one? Which personal one was it, if you have more than one?

Once you’re logged in, simply enter your card number on the next screen and you’re ready to go. Make sure this is the card number on your actual card and not the one from the PDF attachment that came with the confirmation email mentioned above. These numbers are different, with the one on the PDF being a generic one.
